General Tree Work Bid

The Town of Milford Tree Warden, the Awarding Authority, invites sealed bids from qualified bidders for general tree work for the Town of Milford as set forth in the bid specifications.

The successful bidder shall furnish all labor, tools, equipment and operators that can work in harmony with all other elements of labor or to be employed labor; that all employees to be employed at worksite will have successfully completed a course in construction safety and health, approved by the United States Occupational Safety and Health Administration that is at least ten (10) hours in duration at the time the employee begins work. Company must have at minimum one (1) certified Massachusetts Arborists Association (MAA) and/or International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Arborist on staff. Certified weekly payroll reports for each employee will also need to be submitted to the Milford Town Hall, Tree Warden, 52 Main Street, Milford, MA 01757 at time of invoice. The contract term shall be for one (1) year from the date of award and renewable up to two times, for a term of one (1) year from date of award.

Bids are subject minimum wage rates as required by M.G.L. c.149 s26 to 27D. Bidders are required to submit a certificate of insurance for General Liability, Automobile, Excess Liability, Workers Compensation and furnish a $5,000.00 Bid Bond with Bid Sheet. The Bid should be in an envelope bearing on the outside the name and address of the Proposer, addressed to the Milford Town Hall, Town Administrator and Select Board’s Office, 52 Main Street, Milford, MA 01757. The Bid must be properly filled out, signed, sealed and endorsed: "General Tree Work".

The Bid documents will be available 10:00 am, February 16, 2022, at the Milford Town Hall, Town Administrator and Select Board’s Office, 52 Main Street, Milford, MA 01757 (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, Wednesday 8:00 am – 6:00 pm, Friday 8:00 am - 11:30 am) and on the Town of Milford website. All bids are due by 10:00 am, March 7, 2022, at the Milford Town Hall, Town Administrator and Select Board's Office, 52 Main Sreet, Milford, MA 01757. Bids shall be publicly opened and read by the Chief Procurement Officer at that time.

The successful bidder shall indemnify and hold harmless the Town of Milford, MA and all of its agents and employees, from any claims of any nature for liability and from any negligent act or failure to act on the part of the contractor, or any claims arising from the performance of its work.

The Tree Warden reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, to waive any informality, to divide the award or to except any bid or part thereof which is deemed in the best interest of the Town of Milford, MA. The Tree Warden additionally reserves the right to reject or not utilize any bidder whom he determines not to be eligible and responsible based on unacceptable performance.
